Catholic Counseling in Plano, Texas

Therapy that honors your faith and the science of healing.

You want a Catholic therapist for a reason. The faith matters to you, even if you are still sorting through pain, doubts, or questions.

You do not need to explain why that matters here. It is already understood.

What you will find here is active, engaged counseling. Not passive listening that goes nowhere. Understanding what is happening. Getting to the root of it. Practical tools you can put to use immediately. Patterns are named. Skills are taught. Boundaries are strengthened.

I am Dana Nygaard, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Plano, Texas. I help Catholic women, men, and couples heal anxiety, depression, codependency, and relational wounds that quietly shape daily life and love. My work integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy, attachment theory, Level 1 training in the Gottman Method, and faithful Catholic principles.

You will not be pushed toward solutions that violate Catholic moral teaching. You will be cared for as a whole person, body, mind, and soul.

As a Marriage Readiness Assessor for the Diocese of Dallas, I support engaged couples preparing for sacramental marriage. As the author of 365 Dates to Renew Your Christian Marriage, I bring practical tools to couples ready to invest in their connection.

In-person sessions are available in Plano. Telehealth is available across Texas. I am a member of the Catholic Psychotherapy Association.

If something in you feels relieved just reading this, there is a reason. The right therapist can change the course of a life. If this feels like the right fit, reach out.
